Are you Connected?
Communication is 90% of a project manager’s job. As such, we need to be sure to share ideas and network with each other in order to stay current in our industry. Each of our free forums below allow members to post, network, and share ideas with each other. Click on any of them to find others from around the world that have already reached out to meet other project managers.
Also, I encourage each of you to reach out and leave comments on the posts and articles at the pm411.org website that interest you. Your comments, thoughts, and insights will undoubtedly help others in your field and will inspire new and interesting discussions and maybe even new topics for future podcasts.
As always – thanks for the great support of this podcast and for listening!

As a PMP, contributing to the project management profession is a part of my responsibilities. Networking with other PM professionals is part of that contribution. It’s also important to me, personally, for career growth as well as keeping up-to-date on the latest trends in the profession.
One way I do this is by attending events in the project management community. This includes attending PMI chapter meetings and going to the Global PMI Congresses. (http://www.pmi.org/CareerDevelopment/pages/PMI-global-congresses.aspx)
I also am active in the blogosphere. In addition to reading and contributing to other blogs (such as this one, pm411) I also publish my own blog, blogs.pmbestpractices.com. (There’s a link to my blog on the left, under “Other PM Websites.”)
I join business related social networks such as Linkedin.com as well as contributing the PMI fan page on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/PMInstitute). Both Linkedin and Facebook have discussion boards.
I do my best to stay in touch with project managers (and future project managers) who I’ve worked with in the past – not only letting them know what I am up to and inquiring about what they are up to, but also emailing interesting links, articles, and other information that I come across that I believe they might be interested in.
